See, they come because the UK has one of the world's most dynamic economies - that means people will pay them to work here when that won't happen in a lot of other places.
See, this means the UK is doing well. The fact that you are so upset about it has nothing to do with society or economics as you'd like to think we believe.

Yes H&P, they come here to 'work' in our dynamic economic climate, that's right.
And everything else is well in cotton wool land too.
It's really as simple as that it is.
Also I should be grateful for these people coming here because it means our economy is doing well. I'll remember that when we all f*ck off to Poland to live when our own economy is f*cked under the weight of supporting people who come here for our dynamic economy. F*cking touch.

The health service and the benefits come from no other place than the economy, which is excellent because it is as open as possible to business, and that is all about hiring labour at the right price.
Cut benefits and access to the health service all you like and they will still come as long as there is a market for their services.

I think they should do them all a big favour and send them to a fourth world Eastern bloc country, you know one of those like Poland that keeps on bleating about the loss of their workforce to the UK and there just aren't enough people to fill the jobs anymore.

I have mixed feelings on immigrants, as firstly iam one!
But does seem if your from a 1st world nation and preferably white, its all ok, if your from a war zone or poverty stricken country, then many don’t like it and label you as a criminal or benefit seeker.
Biggest problem with immigrants as far as I can see is what your importing, 90% are maybe honest and hard working and just want a better life but its that little minority that come in under that premise that will ultimately cause problems, weather its there Radical views and wanting to convert others or criminal elements wanting to establish themselves.
No easy solution, if at all, its just all part of globalisation, give it few hundred years and it wont matter anymore, the world will be one

Sydney , when my kids were younger I investigated the options ofmaking a new life down under and the criteria you had to meet was robust.
The problem in the UK is that the immigrants rock up with a sense of entitlement that is shocking at times. Contribute nothing but continue to produce children you can't afford to support and place the burden on the british taxpayer with housing and benefits.
I'm white and working class and love my children dearly and would love the amazing feeling of seeing the development of life of further children of my own.But I realise that I need to provide for the children I currently have and the obligation I have to them first.
Shame that the majority of our immigrants aren't grateful for the opportunities afforded them but seek to take the piss out of the system

I don't think the problem is them coming in, the problem is that not everyone is equal and the countries they flee from are not attractive propositions to stay in.
That isnt a problem that the human race will ever solve

I'm always concerned when I hear the plight of women and children on these 'rafts ' and the desperation they must have to try to escape their plight that they would resort to this.
Nevertheless, the highest demographic I always see on boats/trucks of immigrants are male 18/30, that worries me....
